We're going to Ischia for a week in July. I'd love to be able to swim in the sea, but I'm worried that it won't be safe because of all the news stories about rubbish problems in Naples.

parts of it are quite polluted and you should heed warning signs. If an area is posted “vietato” it is probably not safe to swim or fish there. Air pollution can also be a problem in hot, dry seasons in Naples proper, so anyone who suffers from respiratory conditions should bring along suitable medication. The tap water is usually safe to drink but, in general, bottled water will taste better.

Ischia (especially the area of Sant Angelo) is beautiful. The water is warm, the beaches are very clean. Remind you, Ischia is a "volcano island" and therefore, the sand is not white but you will love the "warm natural bathes" there ! Have fun !!

i've got being to Italy two times (Spring Breaks) and to Naples and Pompeii as quickly as. i'm going to show you how to know this, as long as you do not look like Donald Trump and the place bling like a fool, then you definately would be great. whilst i pass to Italy, i ask your self approximately people who look like funds and picture they are going to get robbed or short-replaced. yet, once you pass to Italy you spot soo many those with maps and handbook books. looking exceedingly common and all of us do ok. So in different words, it is totally risk-free. the persons interior the south are very heat human beings. i've got self assurance the mafia is greater of a Sicilian element, yet "Mafia" is all made up from the US (fantastically from the Sopranos). you would be great... loosen up and luxuriate interior the holiday. the girls are attractive in Italy.

the sea is blue and crystal clear and wonderful. I was there last month and went swimming (from Proscida). The rubbish is on land, not being thrown into the sea.
